Tokyo 2020: Nigeria Wrestling Federation Considering Foreign Coach

  By Sampson Adedeji In order to get the best of the qualified wrestlers, Nigeria Wrestling Federation ( NWF) under Daniel Igali is already considering hiring of foreign coach for them, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Five wrestlers Odunayo Adekuoroye, Blessing Oborududu, Aminat Adeniyi, Adijat Idris and Ekerekeme Agiomor qualified for the ancient games. According to the Olympic Gold medalist, he will discuss the issue with the Sports Minister Sunday Dare and even if it's just for 6 weeks before the game. “I will be having some discussions with the sports minister, there are a few things I saw that we can improve on. I may likely bring in someone (foreign coach) to support the team, even if it is for just six weeks, before the Olympics. I already have someone in mind. A coach that will come and bolster the team and work on some deficiencies that I have noticed in the athletes," he stated. The wrestlers are expected to converge in Bayelsa state a week after the ongoing festival where they will camp for one month.
