Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Minister Confident Of Podium Finish For Team Nigeria By Sampson Adedeji With few weeks to the commencement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Sunday Dare is confident that Team Nigeria will return home with medals, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. Atlanta 1996 in the United States remained the only time Team Nigeria has secured gold medals from the Olympic and it came through Chioma Ajunwa (Long Jump) and Dream Team (Football). During his visit to the camp of Wrestling in Bayelsa state, the minister said the preparations has been ongoing in the last two years and the atheletes and everyone concerned has put in their very best. "I'm a realist person, sometimes you look at what has happened to preparation and skills of the athlete in various activities. "We've done that and we have some of the best atheletes that will compete in Tokyo. "This preparations has taken 2 years not 4 months, at individual, national and continental level and I believed these young ones will go out there and do this country pround. "I'm not counting medals but I'm sure Team Nigeria will do this country proud," he stated.
