Tokyo 2020 qualifier: Nigeria Table tennis men's and women's team crash out

The hope of Nigeria having its Table tennis teams to play at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games has been dashed.

The Nigeria sides stormed Portugal the venue of the qualifier with the sole aim of picking one of the available tickets, BSN Reports

It was the women's team lead by Funke Oshonaike, Aruna Ganiyat and Edem Effiong that was first crashed out by losing 3-0 to Poland.

The Men's team lead by Aruna Quadri, Segun Toriola and Omotayo Olajide were hoping to retaliate the defeat of their women but left it late as Poland ran away again with a 3-2 victory.

The Nigeria Ping Pong players was unable to qualify automatically after they lost to Egypt at the 2019 African games in Rabat, Morocco.
