Tokyo 2020 Qualifier: Oshoala to wear captain armband against Cote d'Ivoire

After being named as the captain of Nigeria's Super Falcons, FC Barcelona Femeni attacker Asisat Oshoala will begin her leadership role on Thursday against Cote d'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Falcons will lock horns with their counterpart from Cote d'Ivoire on Thursday in the first leg of the Tokyo 2020 Qualifier, with the sole aim of securing a win.

Stand in coach Christopher Danjuma announced Oshoala as the team new skipper last week after former captain Desire Oparanozie was left out of the Team.

Oshoala and 6 other foreign based players arrived the country on Monday and departed with the team on Tuesday for the West Africa country.

Nigeria will host Ivory Coast at the Agege stadium in Lagos on October 7th, 2019
