Tokyo 2020 Qualifier: Super Falcons, Cote d'Ivoire share spoil

The hope of Nigeria's Super Falcons to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games received a huge boost on Thursday as the team recorded a goalless draw in Abidjan.
Cote d'Ivoire hosted the current African Women Cup of Nations champion at Parc Des Sports Treichville and was unable to break them down.
Falcons started the match on sluggish note but host failed to capitalised on errors committed by the team and first half ended with cote d'Ivoire dominating the proceedings.
The Nigeria side returned as the better side in the second half piling pressure on the host but missed numerous begging chances.
All the efforts of both sides to break the deadlock proved abortive and the match has to be settle in the second leg slated for Agege stadium in Lagos next Monday.
Meanwhile, Amarachi Okoronkwo has been ruled out of the second leg after she was sent off for a second bookable offence for a foul play.
