Tokyo 2020: Sports Ministry Will Help Ayanacho To a Podium Finnish - Sunday Dare By Sampson Adedeji To motivate and encourage Elizabeth Ayanacho to a podium finish at Tokyo 2020, Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Sunday Dare has reiterated that the ministry will do everything within his capacity to assist her, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Minister on Tuesday visited the Teakwondo fighter in her training as she intensifies preparations for the ancient games. The 22 year old Elizabeth is the only Nigeria in 16 years to have secure Taekwondo qualification to the Olympic. "I am happy with the intensity and level of training that I have seen here today." "I want to assure Elizabeth that despite the constraint of resources expressed in recent times, the sports ministry will extend all possible support to ensure she achieves her podium dream in Tokyo,” the Minister said. The Minister further thanked the national champions that attend the special camp, urging them to present a formidable resistance to Elizabeth which will improve her training and readiness. “I thank all the national champions here today. Your role is important. I want you to train hard and help Elizabeth prepare, so when she gets to Tokyo, she will be ready for her Olympic opponents," he told the federation media.
