Tokyo Olympic: Table Tennis 7th Club Award Excites Funke Oshonaike By Niyi Busari Nigeria table tennis sensation, Funke Oshonaike will receive the prestigious 7th Club Award when she touch down in Japan for the Olympics, BSNSports.com.ng can report. Oshonaike will be the first woman to represent her country seven times in table tennis event at the Olympics and an award of recognition called '7th Club Award' is already in place to celebrate the feat. Oshonaike in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports in Abuja stated that her Qualification for the 2020 Olympic for the seventh time is one thing that will not be erased in her mind. "Apart from the fact that I am going to get a wonderful award as the first woman to be in the Olympic for the seventh time. There's what they call 7th club awrd in table tennis. We only have three men and only one man from Nigeria which is Segun Toriola who have achieved the feat but I am the first woman to receive this award. And I pray that this Olympic be the best one for me and to be a good ambassador of the country. I want my name to be written down in a place that it can never be forgotten." She said. She believed that her preparations ahead of the women table tennis competition in.the Olympic will help her finish among the best in the Japan. "I was in Italy with personal coach in preparations for the Olympics and I have been doing a lot of training programmes on my own. I believe to see myself finish among the best at the Olympic." She concluded.
