Transfer: Genk Targets Another Nigerian As Onuachu's Replacement By Omolagba Oluwayemi KRC Genk love for Nigerian forwards has never been hidden after having three of them in their ranks last season although one was eventually loaned out and with the heroic performances of Paul Onuachu last season which has attracted a host of top European clubs including Sevilla and Arsenal, Genk have turned to another Nigerian to fill the void he'll leave, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Although they still have Cyriel Dessers who claimed he's capable of filling the space Onuachu might leave at the club, Genk wants a tough competition for him in the position and as a result have turned their attention to Chelsea young star, Iké Ugbo. Iké Ugbo under contract with Chelsea for one year has been playing for the blues for a long time, but loaned out almost every season. Very popular in Belgium, Iké Ugbo was with Cercle Brugge last season and was one of the stars. With a year left in his contract, Chelsea seems to want to sell him, in order to catch another (modest) transfer fee. Reports gathered from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sport Italia, Genk is not the only candidate in the battle for Ugbo's signature: Besiktas, PSV and Feyenoord have also shown interest. Romano expects Ugbo to make a decision about his future in the coming days.
