By Sampson Adedeji
Ahead of the new season, Czech Republic champions Slavia Praha has announced the signing of Nigeria international Ubong Ekpai on a 3 year deal, BSNSports.com.ng can reports.
He joined Praha as a free agent after completing his contract with another Slovan Liberec.
The 25 year old former Kano Pillars player was happy with the opportunity to work under coach Jindřich Trpišovský for the second time as the pairs previously worked at Liberec.
"Slavia won the league, so I expect a difficult season ahead of us. We will have to fight a lot to achieve everything we want again."
"My dream with Slavia is to defend the title, the cup, to win all the trophies here! I look forward to working with the implementation team."
"Coach Trpišovský is like my father, I have already played under him in Liberec, he knows me well and we both know what to expect from the each other," Ekpai said.
The club manager too cannot hide his excitement over Ekpai's reunion.
"Every week you can see huge progress, he is very docile. He is a player with a great future, "said Jindřich Trpišovský."
Ekpai played for Kano Pillars FC and Akwa United FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League before moving to Maccabi Haifa in 2016.
