By Omolagba Oluwayemi
Newly promoted Italian Serie A side, Salernitana are in talks to bring two Nigerians, Simy Nwankwo and Joel Obi to the Stadio Arechi ahead of next season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The reports according to Sky Sport Italia says they are in negotiations with 30-year-old Nigeria international midfielder Obi who is a free agent after his contract with Chievo expired. Obi has spent most of his career in Italy where he's played for Inter, Parma, Torino and Chievo.
Sportitalia states Salernitana are also setting up a meeting with Crotone for striker Simy who is valued at €10m.
The 29-year-old has also been linked with Udinese, Genoa and Torino after his sensational 20 Serie A goals last season.
Those were not enough to prevent Crotone’s relegation and he has attracted interest from abroad, but so far not the firm offers that the club was expecting.
