Transfer Update: Dessers Returns To Netherlands

Contrary to the earlier reports of Nigeria forward Cyril Dessers joining Spanish second tier club CD Leganes, Dutch Eredivisie club Feyenoord in the evening of Tuesday confirmed the capture of the attacker on loan,

Dessers is not new to the Dutch league as he was the top scorer with Heracles Armelo a few seasons back before moving to RKC Genk last season.
Feyenoord through its official website confirmed Dessers move on loan with an option to purchase him outrightly at the end of the season.

"Cyriel has proven that he can score and we are convinced that he will show that at Feyenoord. Moreover, his arrival means that we have more options to choose from in the front, which is no superfluous luxury given our busy schedule," the club stated.
Dessers started his career in his native Belgium at Oud-Heverlee Leuven. He then played for Sporting Lokeren before playing for the Dutch clubs NAC Breda, FC Utrecht, and Heracles. He has been playing for Genk since the summer of 2020.
