Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong returned to Watford’s first team Friday evening to make his 20th Championship appearance for Watford which play host to Derby County at the Vicarage Road Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian trio of Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success and Tom Dele-Bashiru had contrasting fortunes as the former was the only one in action when Watford annihilated Bristol City 6-0 last weekend with the former Serie A star playing for the entire duration of the game at the Vicarage Road Stadium for his 19th game of the season.
He was however an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat of Preston North End at the Deepdale stadium last mid-week.
The former Udinese of Italy defender has scored once in 19 appearances so far this term. He has now made his 19th start in 20 games tonight.
Meanwhile, Success who is yet to make an appearance this season is expected to return to action for Watford sometimes this month after spending time on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
However, the return date of midfielder, Dele-Bashiru who had played two Championship matches for Watford during the 2020/21 season before picking up an injury is not yet known.
