U-17 AFCON: Nigeria will Pick the Sole Ticket......Manu Garba

U-17
By Admin Golden Eaglets’ handler, Manu Garba, is confident his boys will pick the ticket from the U-17 qualifiers for WAFU Zone B slatted for Niger, next month. Garba said that the mistakes of the past edition (2015) have been corrected to ensure the Eaglets qualify for the Nations Cup next year. “We are into the last phase of our preparations already. The team has done very well in terms of physical, technical and tactical fitness. But above all, we still have a few grey areas to address before the tournament proper. “I’m optimistic we have a team that can stand the test of time, but we must take every match as it comes because we intend to win every match in Niger and pick the sole ticket,” Garba said. He further went on to deny news making the rounds that his squad was depleted following the MRI scan carried out, insisting that a large number of the boys passed the test. “I don’t know where that story is coming from because for me this is the best MRI test we have conducted in years. Out of the 50 boys that took part in the test, 42 of them passed and that is a huge success for us,” Garba said. The Eaglets are drawn in Group B of the WAFU Zone B qualifiers against Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, and Benin Republic, with the top two from each group qualifying for the semifinals.
