U-17 Screening: Manasseh Gideon, Nigerian New Kid on The Block

By Niyi Busari Flomat FC of Abuja young star, Manasseh Gideon who caught the attention of the 2016/17 NPFL runners up, MFM FC of Lagos coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu when he was invited in the mid-season window trials. Ilechukwu described him as a midfielder with vigour who spread defense splitting passes to the attackers. Mannaseh Gideon, 15, whose playing style can be likened to the combination of Daniel Amokachi stamina and Austin Okocha skillful display with the ball could not sign for MFM FC simply because MFM management told the coach to sign strikers while midfielders should be promoted from their feeders team. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng his manager, Mr. Olusola Omole said: "Manasseh Gideon is a good player that makes job easy for coaches. He is always a thorn in the flesh of his opponent and his marking ability is top notch. "He is a player that never gets tired, his passes are top notch, he attracts the attention of spectators whenever he holds ball. He is likened to two Nigerian star footballers J.J Okocha and Daniel Amokachi. "It will be a great signing for any NPFL team that sign him. Also, if the national U-17 coaching crews can give him a look, he will add the needed attacking prowess to the team."
