U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles edge pass Niger To Book Semis, World Cup Tickets

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles qualified for the semi- finals of the 2019 U-20 AFCON and also secured a spot at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland following their 1-0 victory over hosts Niger in their last Group A match on Friday, BSNSports reports Adamu Alhassan scored the only crucial goal of the encounter. Eagles were superb from the blast of the whistle till the end of the match. Nigerian players dominated the match in the first half, but they were unable to get a goal for the first 45 minutes of the encounter. Nigeria's midfielder Alhassan however broke the deadlock with a free kick in the 73rd minute with the ball not touching any player on its way into the net. Nigeria finish top of the summit in Group A with seven points. South Africa defeated Burundi 1-0 also to join the Nigeria side in the last four. The Flying Eagles will face the rummer up in Group B in the semi- final on the 13th of February.
