  U17 AFCON In Doubt Following Closure of Airspace In Morocco By Sampson Adedeji Following the reports coming from Morocco host country of the 2021 African Cup Of Nations, this year edition of the U17 AFCON might not be held as scheduled, BSNSports.com.ng reports. This is confirmed through a statement from CAF who organized an emergency committee meeting today to decide on whether on not it will hold as scheduled for Morocco or be shifted to another country from March 13 to 31st. "Following the closure of Moroccan airspace until March 21 due to the pandemic, the CAF emergency committee meets this Monday to decide on the cancellation of the CAN U17 which is to begin on March 13 at Morocco or its relocation to another country. It is also possible to postpone the date of the competition. Out of the 12 qualified teams for the competition only few countries have been able to fly into Morocco due to covid 19 restrictions. Algerian U17 national team was expected to arrive in Morocco on Saturday morning but were unable to do so as they are yet to be granted entry visa into the country. Cameroon, Zambia, Tanzania are among the countries that have arrived in Morocco while countries like Nigeria, Coted'ivoire, Mali, South Africa are yet to storm the host City. Faced with this situation 5 days before the start of the games, the CAF emergency committee meets on Monday to decide on the cancellation of the competition or its relocation to another country. It is also possible to postpone the date of the competition. In total, 12 teams divided into 3 groups of 4 are involved in this competition.
