U17 AFCON: Rohr Urges Golden Eaglets To Be Focused By Sampson Adedeji Barely two weeks to the kick off of the 2021 U17 African Cup Of Nations, Nigeria's Super Eagles coach, Rohr has urged Golden Eaglets to be focused for the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Nigeria U17 qualified for the biennial competition after they finished second in the 2021 U17 WAFU competition played in Togo. The five-time World champions are placed in group B alongside Tanzania, Algeria and Congo and the Franco-German gaffer has encouraged them to be prepared for the tournament. “It's not an easy group. Algeria and Congo have very strong teams, as well as Tanzania. We must therefore be careful because there are no small teams and all the teams are well prepared ”. While encouraging the Golden Eaglets to give their best in the competition, Gernot Rohr gave the example of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, whom he called up to the senior squad a year after having led the 2015 World Eaglets. “In my first game against Tanzania in Uyo, I picked up an U-17 player in 2016. You know who? Victor Osimhen. He came from the U-17 team. So you are already close (to the Super Eagles), ”he added.
