  NCF/PwC U17 Boys Cricket Championship: Two Kings Set For Thrilling Final Akanimo Kufre The PwC sponsored Nigeria Cricket Federation U17 Boys Championship is paying off with great performance displayed by school teenagers at Edo Boys High school Benin City. In the semi finals match played on Saturday February 6th 2021, two regions in the North and South battle for supremacy. The first semi final game had North Central played against North West. The defending Champions, North West showed dominance by strolling to victory with 7 wickets as they demonstrated superb fielding. Theophilus Jeremiah, North West was player of the match taking 5 wickets from North Central batsmen. In the end, NCF President Prof. Yahaya Ukwenya's region raised their banners as King in the North. The second game was very dramatic, South West, famous side in Nigeria's Cricket history, having Lagos and Ogun stood against South south in the 2nd semi final encounter. Superior batting was entertaining to fans as Saturday Elijah, batted 41 runs, Asia Osaro played 40, while another South-south U17 sensation, Useni Promise made 16 runs of 13 balls and 123.0 strike rate. The South-south made a total 156 runs in the 30overs match. South West had to chase 157 runs, but their chances are too small considering the tight fielding of South-south team consisting Edo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom State and others. South-south oppression came to end with when the southern Giants took all South West wickets at 101, thereby winning by 55 runs. Prosper Useni became Man of the match after taking 3 wicket following a palatable batting skills. Nigeria's former international and technical director, Olisa Egwuatu watching with excitement assured, "South West can't survive this under normal Cricket conditions. It's certainly going to be a South-south win." As national U19 Coach Obruthe Ogbimi observed, "most of the boys have shown prosect, having written their names on the selection radar with their performance." A big battle is expected today (Sunday) as two former finalists are set for what many Cricket followers call clash of Titans. Who will be King of the realm, the King in the North or King in the South?
