U17 World Cup: FIFA Congratulates Nigeria, Angola, Brazil For Picking Round of 16 Tickets

The world football governing body, FIFA has congratulated Nigeria, Brazil and Angola being the first three countries to book their Round of 16 tickets at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The five-time world champions, Nigeria, three-time winners, Brazil and another African representative Angola all won their first two group matches and qualified for the second round stages with a game to spare.

Angola and Brazil having won their first two matches in group A left Canada and New Zealand with no points as both countries are yet to record a win. Brazil however, are on top of the group table with superior goal difference (+6) while Angola have +2 goal difference.

In group B, Nigeria are on top of the group and booked Round 16 ticket after 3-2 victory over Ecuador having defeated Hungary 4-2 in the first match. The Manu Garba-led team secured 6 points while Ecuador have 3 as Australia and Hungary who will play each other today are yet to pick a point losing their first matches to Ecuador and Nigeria respectively.

FIFA on its official twitter handle congratulated the three countries on their Round of 16 feat.
