IK Start midfielder Afeez Aremu has reportedly ruled himself out of U20 Africa Cup of Nations third-place playoff between Nigeria and South Africa on Saturday, February 16, BSNSports reports.

Aremu suffered a training injury two days before the Flying Eagles lost on penalties to Mali.

Afeez explained that he had the knock during the last training session while preparing for the semi final game against Mali.

It is believed that Aremu will spend a few weeks on the sidelines as a result of the toe injury, effectively ruling him out of the game.
