U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles Fight For 3rd Best Against South Africa on Saturday

Flying Eagles of Nigeria will on Saturday slug it out with South Africa U20 National Team for the position of the third best team in the ongoing U20 African Nations Cup in Niger, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 3rd place match is scheduled for 16:30 pm as both teams meet for the second time in the tournament.

Flying Eagles finished as group A winner with 7 points while South Africa came second with 5 points from 3 matches.

Though the match-day 2 Group A match involved the two teams ended in goalless with the Flying Eagles dominating the proceedings but wastwd a lot of scoring chances not to have recorded at least a goal.

In the semi-final, the seven-time African champion, Nigeria narrowly lost 5-4 on penalties to Mali while tournament favourite, Senegal pipped South Africa 1-0 to progress to final.

Senegal and Mali are through to the final, the match is billed for Sunday by 16:30 pm.

The four semi-finalists will fly African flags in Poland when FIFA U20 World Cup begins.
