U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles To Face Group B Runners up In Semi-final

Flying Eagles will slug it out with Group B runners up in the semifinals of the 2019 U20 African Nations Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria and South Africa on Friday won their respective last group A games and qualified for the semifinals and the World Cup in Poland.

Group A runners up, South Africa will lock horns with Group B winner, Senegal in one of the two semifinal matches next Wednesday.

Nigeria's Flying Eagles on the other hand will have to wait for the runners up in Group B to determine their next opponent in the semis slated for next Wednesday by 16:30 pm.

In Group B, Senegal has already qualified for semi finals while the result from the last group game between Ghana and Mali produce the runners up who will face the seven-time African champions, Nigeria.

Both countries, Mali and Ghana have 3 points each, while draw from the match qualify Ghana for the semi final, Mali, however, needs an outright win. Ghana are better on goal aggregate with 0 while Mali has -1 goal aggregate.

Both teams will play their last group and decisive match on Saturday by 16:30 pm.

Flying Eagles finished the group with 7 points having won Burundi 2-0, drew 0-0 with South Africa and pipped stubborn host, Niger Republic 0-1 to end as Group A winner.
