U20 WAFU Zone B: Cote d'Ivoire Hold Flying Eagles

The group B opener of West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B competition ended a 1-1 draw as ten-man Flying Eagles of Nigeria were held by arch-rivals, Cote d'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The match played at Port Novo saw Nigeria dominating the game but failed to convert their chances leading to losing two points in a crucial tie.
The first half ended goalless with Nigeria posing threats to the opponent goal area but could not break through their defense.
Chris Nwaeze put the seven-time African champions ahead in the 65th minute with an assist from former Golden Eaglets winger Wisdom Ubani.
Nigeria were reduced to ten men, as the goalscorer Nwaeze was shown red in the 75th minute after Ubani missed a sitter.
The Junior Elephant of Cote d'Ivoire leveled the game in the 90th minute and was able to secure a draw in the encounter.
Nigeria next game is against Ghana on 9th of December. A must win for Nigeria to be able to move to the next round.
The winner of the WAFU U20 Zone B championship will qualify automatically for the 2021 CAF U20 African Nations Cup .
