U23 AFCON: Dele-Bashiru Says Olympic Eagles Will Make Nigeria Proud

Dream Team VII and Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bahiru has stated that they are ready to make the country proud at the fast approaching U23 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Dele-Bashiru was among the invited foreign based players that reported to the team camp in Abuja ahead of the Olympics qualifiers competition.

Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng after their friendly match against Nasarawa United in Abuja on Wednesday, the midfielder said:

"We are looking forward to showcase what we got and what we can do as a team and make Nigeria people proud. I have to work hard for the team and myself and not underrate anybody," he stated.

Dele-Bashiru was one of the Nigeria's Flying Eagles star performer at the 2019 FIFA U20 World cup in Poland.

He moved to Watford FC this summer from the English Premier league champion, Manchester city.

The Olympic Eagles had played a 0-0 draw against Niger Tornadoes on Tuesday but came back stronger on Wednesday afternoon to defeat Alhan Cup winner, Nasarawa United 2-0.

The Nigeria's U23 team will leave for Egypt today to continue preparations for the oncoming 2019 U23 African Nations Cup.
