By Niyi Busari

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has said that the federal government will take necessary actions to improve Nigerian football, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

This follows the failure of the Nigeria's U23 national team to get the needed win in their last group match against South Africa at the ongoing 2019 U23 African Nations Cup in Egypt.

The draw saw the defending champion crashed out of the tournament, failed to progress to semi final and ultimately unable to pick one of the 2020 Men's Football Olympics tickets.

In recent time, Nigeria football national teams have not done well enough; Nigeria failed to pick Olympic ticket in the Women's Football event, crashed out of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) as well West Africa Football Union tournament. The U20 male team as well as the U17 national team were disappointing at the FIFA World Cup finals, based on this, the federal government wants to take decisive decision to take the game to the next level.
