U23 Invitation: Akpan Optimistic of Making Final List

Akwa United forward Etyboy Akpan says he will do his best to make the 23-man final list in the U23 National Team, BSNSports.com.ng reports

Akpan is named among the 33 players invited by coach Imama Amapakabo to camp ahead of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture between Nigeria and Libya.

Speaking exclusively to Favour Itua, Akpan who has been regular for Coach Rafael Everton’s side this season thanked God for the invite and hinted that it is an opportunity to take his footballing career to the next level.

" I feel great, feel happy, want to thank God for the opportunity."

Akpan, an utility player says he will prove his call up on the field of play as he hopes to make the final squad.

"Football is all about going to the pitch and do what the coach wants that brings the best result to your team, I will try my best to convince the coach on the field of play, give my best and leave the rest to God."

Egypt will host the 3rd Africa U23 Cup of Nations, 8th- 22nd November 2019.
