UCL: Dennis Makes History Once Again

UCL:
The UEFA Champions League group stage got off to a thrilling start on Tuesday with eight games across Europe, BSNSports.com.ng reports. In one of the early kickoffs, Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis got off the mark, scoring the first goal as his Belgian team Club Brugge stunned Russian league leaders Zenit Saint Petersburg 2-1 away from home. Dennis had scored twice in Brugge’s 2-2 draw against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last season. He has now started in a similar style this season after he put Philippe Clement’s side ahead against Zenith in the 63rd minute. The 22-year-old finished off a goal scramble after Zenith’s defence failed to clear properly in the box. However, the Russians hit back in the 74th minute courtesy of an Ethan Horvath’s own goal. But with the match heading towards a draw, Charles De Ketelaere popped up in added time to hand the Belgian the lead and three precious away points.
