UCL: Salah Sets Liverpool Record As He Scores A Brace Against Roma By Admin Mohamed Salah set a goals record as Liverpool defeated AS Roma 5-2 in the first leg of the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday night. Braces from Salah and Roberto Firmino and a Saido Mane strike gave Liverpool a commanding 5-0 lead but Edin Dzeko and Diego Perotti reduced the deficit. Salah has now scored more goals this season (43) than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues, overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo currently on 42. The Egypt forward is now the first Liverpool player in the club’s history to reach double figures in a single European campaign with his 10 Champions League goals. Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma, in the summer curled in a beautiful strike in the 36th minute. He doubled his side’s lead late in the first half, finishing off a brilliant counter-attack with a delightful dink past Alisson in goal for Roma. Mane made it 3-0 in the 56th minute before Firmino scored twice in seven minutes to make it 5-0. The Brazilian forward scored in the 62nd and in the 69th minutes of the game before Dzeko pulled one back. Perotti scored Roma’s second goal in the 85th minute from the spot.
