Uefa Champions League: Late Drama in Istanbul As Leipzig Edge Out Basaksehir
By Omolagba Oluwayemi
Interesting evening in Istanbul Turkey as Group H match day 5 game between Istanbul Basaksehir and RB Leipzig produced seven goals including two late goals to further push next round qualification to the final day BSNsports.com.ng reports.
A 26th minutes goal by Yussuf Poulsen and another in the 43rd minute by Nordi Mukiele makes it look like its going to be a easy evening ride for Liepzig but a goal back for Basaksehir in the 45+3 minutes goal of the first half mean the second half would be a little nervy and of course it didn't disappoint.
Daniel Olmo got the 3rd for Leipzig in the 66th minute to make it 3-1 and ease off pressure from the home side, but little did they know that they were about to see the beast in Basaksehir.
Irfan Kahveci reduced to deficit to one for Basaksehir in the 72nd minute which means game on and Irfan Kahveci added his second of the night for Basaksehir in the 85th minute to make it 3-3, but when the home team thought they've salvaged a point for themselves, they got heart broken in the second minute of the additional time when A. Soerloth scored the winner for Liepzig.
With Basaksehir on 3 points, the group is wide opened for the remaining 3 teams, Manchester United, PSG and Leipzig who are all on 9 points as at the time of filling this report as PSG currently leads Manchester United by a goal at Old Trafford
