Umar Joins Caykur Rizespor On One-Season Loan From Osmanlispor
Super Eagles striker Aminu Umar has joined newly promoted Turkish Super Lig side, Caykur Rizespor on a season loan deal from Osmanlispor, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Umar scored six times and provided eight assists for Osmanlispor who suffered relegation to Turkish Lig 1 (second-tier division).
“Caykur Rizespor reached an agreement with Aminu Umar from Osmanlıspor,” a statement on Çaykur Rizespor’s official website reads.
“We have reached an agreement with Nigerian striker Aminu Umar, who is 23 years old, in the last season’s Super League team of Osmanlıspor, on a loan for 1 year.
“We say to Aminu Umar that the club welcomes you, we wish you success.”
The 23-year-old striker represented Nigeria U-23 team at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio where they won bronze in the men’s football event.
He previously featured for Samsunspor and Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.
Umar made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2016 and has made four appearances.
