US Summer Series: Reggae Girls Pip Super Falcons By Uche Dozie The Nigeria Super Falcons started their US Summer Series campaign with a one nil defeat to host Jamaica on Thursday night, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Deneisha Blackwood's goal in the 51st minute made the difference for Jamaica at the BBVA stadium in Houston. The first half ended goalless thanks to the saving hands of Nigerian goalkeeper, Oluehi Tochukwu who saved a rather poor penalty in the 27th minutes. Jamaica looked the better and more physical side as a one-on-one situation was saved by Oluehi earlier in the match. The Super Falcons showed more intensity in the early part of the second half with two of their plays which could have led to a goal ruled for offside. However, it was Jamaica who made their chance count as Blackwood finished well to give the Reggae Girls the lead 6 minutes into the half. Subsequently, the Falcons' poor communication and missed chances counted against them as the game ended one goal in favour of the Jamaicans. This is Nigeria's first defeat under Coach Randy Waldrum. The team play Portugal in their next game of the series.
