UWCL: Christy bagged an assist for Benfica on her Champions League debut

  By Omolagba Oluwayemi Nigeria Youth International, Christy Ucheibe got an assist for Benfica against PAOK on her Champions League debut night. Christy assisted Cloé Zoé Eyja Lacasse for Benfica’s second goal of the game in the 44th minute after serving her a long pass from her midfield position to double Benfica’s lead after Ana Vitória had already opened scoring for Benfica as early as the fourth minute. In the second half, Thomai Vardali pulled one goal back for PAOK in the 57th minute before Catarina Amado made it 1-3 in favour of SL Benfica and confirm their place in the Round 32 of the tournament. The 19-year-old Nigeria midfielder who joined Benfica early this year from the Swedish Elitettan side, Assi was on for 81 minutes before being replaced by Beatriz Cameirão.
