Ahead of the coming Jupiler League season, KRC Genk is strongly strengthening itself and trying not to let go of their star players including Nigerian talisman, Paul Onuachu, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Limburgers who were the Belgian cup champion last season are managing to keep their strongholds on board for the time being and despite several clubs rumoured to be in contention for the signature of Paul Onuachu, Genk manager, Van Den Brom believed he might remain with the club beyond the pre-season.
"I hope that we will still be without leavers on September 1. It would be very nice if we could keep this core together. It is not certain that Lucumi and Onuachu will definitely leave, but for the time being they are still at Genk.
"They are the two players we said are likely to leave, but that doesn't mean they're leaving the club anyway," Van Den Brom said.
After scoring 35 goals for Genk in the 2020/2021 season, Paul Onuachu have been linked with several premier league including Arsenal, but it is left to be seen if the Nigerian international will leave or remain with Genk for next season.
