Villarreal slaps £40m on Chukwueze, as Lyon knock the door

Just ten days into the winter transfer window, the movement of players and enquiries has reached the top gear and Nigeria players are not left out.

French Ligue One side, Olympic Lyon have shown interest and asked Spanish La Liga giants, Villarreal about the availability of Nigeria's Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The former initially placed offer for Karl Toko Ekambi but was turned back by the Yellow Submarine.

Olympic Lyon representatives Vincent Ponsot and Florian Maurice quickly switched attention to the Nigeria youngster but Villarreal slapped €40m on him.

The reports also has it that it will be extremely hard for Lyon to get Chukwueze as unnamed English premier league side has secured him.
