Volleyball: Kano Pillars Coach Optimistic Of Good Outing On The Continent By Adebayo Taofeek Kano Pillars Volleyball Club head coach, Musa Bala Musa, is optimistic that his boys will do well when the continental volleyball competition resumes in 2022. He believed that the experience the team have garnered over they years dominating Nigeria volleyball for 17 years and ruled Africa in 5 years will help them to emerge victorious at the continent. Being the 2021 champions, Kano Pillars will represent Nigeria at the African Volleyball Club Championship scheduled to begin in 2022 "After this win, our focus will be shifted to preparations for the African championship." Baba Musa told BSN Sports. He added, "We will resume camp early and our experience that helped us in dominating Nigeria volleyball for 17 years and Africa in 5 years will go a long way in making Nigerians proud when hostilities resume at the continent next year." He said he was happy with the team's progression under his watch which will propel the team to victory. "First I give glory to God, and we can't do this without God. I thank Ibrahim Galadima who is a formidable sport administrator, for the programme that we are having in Kano, then secondly, if you watch Kano Pillars progression this season, every year, we are moving one step ahead. Last year we came second and I said 2021 will be our year. He however admitted that playing again Chief of Army Staff Volleyball Club was the toughest on their road to winning the league. "Playing COAS is our most difficult team defecting them in the first phase 3-0 having a minus score below 20 and to my greatest shock, Kano Pillars later suffered defeat to COAS in 3-2 hard fought game. This made Kano Pillars to gear up and defeat NSCDC, as the easiest opponent of today final competition. It's has always being easy to beat NSCDC not the first time."
