National Division one league gets underway in Ilorin

The 2019 Division one National volleyball league started in Ilorin on 28th June 2019 at the Indoor sport complex of the university of Ilorin. In a statement made available by the General secretary of the Nigeria Volleyball federation, Maikano Adamu, he said ten male teams and four female teams will all jostle for a promotion ticket at the Indoor sport complex of the University of Ilorin. He also confirmed that the championship will be rounding up on the 7th July 2019.

During the opening game of the tournament, Kada Kings square up against Prison service in a thrilling encounter. Both sides stood toe-toe before Kada eventually wrap up the tie in the fifth set (3-2) to claim a win.

In the second game, Offa Volleyball club of Kwara state blaze past Anambra Spikers (3-1) to get off to a winning start while Niger Brass also edge Team Katsina by the same set (3-1) during the third match. The fourth game of the afternoon came up between Team Delta and Nigeria Army.

The army team won in three straight set (25-14, 25-20, 25-20) As at the time of the report, other games are currently going on.
