Volleyball: Underrated Anambra upsets FCT at National Sports Festival By Admin Anambra State are currently topping group A of the male volleyball event after beating FCT 3-1 at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Abuja. The Uche Okafor led team humbled a FCT team filled with top national players who have been playing for over 10 years. FCT teams comprises of players plying playing for Nigeria Customs, NSCDC amongst other. The Willie Obiano boys narrowly took the first set 25-23 after much tussle from the FCT team. The FCT boys could not believe their eyes as the underrated Anambra State team stole the second set by 25-19. FCT who were not going down without a point, beat Anambra 25-12 but the fourth set went the way of the Willie Obiano boys by 25-19. An elated Chairman, Anambra State Volleyball Association, Philo Egbeuniwe commended the team's determination during the match. She said, "I am happy with the progress of this team because we started assembling them during the Atlantic Conference of the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League last April. For them to beat Rivers state and the FCT, I am fulfilled".
