  WAFU B Qualifiers: NFF Awaits CAF Decision On Extra Slot For NWFL Club By Niyi Busari a The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is waiting for the decision of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, decision on whether Nigeria will present two clubs at the maiden WAFU B CAF competition which serves as qualifiers for the CAF Women's Champions League, BSNSports.com.ng reports. CAF had announced that the modalities for the WAFU B qualifiers provide that extra slot will be given to a country whose Women's National team won the last African Women's Cup of Nations which was won by the Super Falcons of Nigeria in Ghana in 2018. This is contained in a statement released by the media department of the Nigeria Women Football League which reads in part, "The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed receipt of the letter sent to them by the Nigeria Football Federation on the country's representative, Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt, to the WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League in July. "The NWFL Secretariat and the Nigeria Football Federation are still waiting for the Confederation of African Football to make public the final modalities for the selection of the extra slot sets aside for WAFU B which states that, one extra slot will be given to a country whose national team won the last edition of the African Women Cup of Nations. "The AWCON title was won by the Super Falcons of Nigeria at Ghana 2018. The WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League will be played in July in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, while the main championship, the CAF Women Champions League, will be played in Morocco in October 2021. Rivers Angels are the champions of the 2020/21 NWFL and the name has been submitted to CAF while waiting for whether another club's name will be sent to CAF as second Nigeria team in the competition.
