Amoo who urged Nigerians to continue supporting the team is optimistic of his boys' ability to make the country proud at the zonal championship. "Believe in us and support us. The players are happy to represent their father land and give their best in the zonal competition. "We know the first match in a tournament is always tough and if we can do well in the first game that will stabilize the team. That's exactly what we've worked for and prayed that should happen to us and that will put us in a comfortable position ahead of the next match. Winning the fist game will boost the confidence of the team." Fatai Amoo told journalist at the Airport. Five-time world champions, Golden Eaglets will lock horn with Ivory Coast on Wednesday in their group B first match before facing three-time world champions, Ghana in their second and last group match in Lome, Togo. Nigeria Golden Eaglets arrived Lome on Sunday and are expected to complete their technical and tactical strategies ahead of their group opener against Cote d'Ivoire on Wednesday. Two top teams from group A and group B will qualify for the semifinals while two finalists automatically pick the CAF U17 African Nations Cup. The world football governing body has cancelled the 2021 FIFA U17 World Cup. Nigeria are the champions after defeating Ghana 3-1 in the final of the tournament in 2018.
