Watford's Captain Expresses Disappointment Over Ekong's Blunder Captain of Watford FC of England, Moussa Sissoko has revealed that the Hornets were disappointed with the opening goal they conceded against Leicester City but stopped short of blaming Super Eagles star William Troost-Ekong, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Ekong after missing two games made the starting eleven on Sunday against Leicester but the Nigerian committed a blunder which could hamper his chances of getting selected again. Ekong was responsible for Leicester's first goal after he failed to head out Jonny Evans long ball thereby allowing James Maddison to fire past Daniel Bachmann. Although Watford drew level through Joshua King’s penalty after Emmanuel Dennis was tripped by Wilfred Ndidi, they went on to lose the match 4-2. Expressing his concerns after the game, Sissoko said: “I think we started well, but we conceded the first goal and we are disappointed because [William] Troost-Ekong thought someone told him to leave the ball to clear it.” “At this level you can’t make these types of mistakes because you get punished straight away. It is part of football and now we need to move on, there is another game on Wednesday and we have to be ready,” the French international added.
