We Are Stepping Up The Ladder With Players' Salaries - FC One Rockets Owner
By Akila Matawal
New Nigeria National League side FC One Rockets have been up-to-date with the payment of salaries for their players according to proprietor of the club Otuekong Nse Essien.
Speaking on a live radio show in Uyo last weekend,Essien whose team recently acquired their NNL slot said regardless of the financial downturn due to the coronavirus pandemic, salaries have been paid monthly as from August 2019.
"The boys started receiving salaries from August last year. In June we acquired a slot for the NNL from Collins Edwin. At this level it's a bigger task, bigger league. The foundation is still there.
"When other teams were disbanding players' contracts, mine was that we were innovating. We were stepping the ladder up."
"The Indomitables"(FC One Rockets) are set for NNL action next season and the financial motivation for the players could be the driving force towards achieving greater things for the club.
