Players of Nigeria U-20 Women’s team, the Falconets says they are saddened and disappointed over the inability of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF to pay their match bonuses of last year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World cup in France.
A development which has not gone well with the players and the members of the technical staff.
Freekicknaija.com.ng in a check understands that that the qualifiers and match bonuses of the players are yet to be offset by the nation’s football governing body.
Some of the players who spoke with Freekicknaija.com.ng and preferred to remain anonymous, informed that the NFF has failed to pay them several allowances and bonuses owed them as promised.
“We are tired of listening to their lies. How long will it takes for us to be paid or is it when we have die of hunger.?
“No one is telling us anything as to when we will be paid. We (Falconets) has made up our mind to storm Abuja in the coming days to protest for what is due us. We can no longer wait and listen to their lies.
“They are owing us qualifiers money and six match bonuses. They promised to pay us before last year Christmas (December 2018) but nothing has been paid till date,” one of the players explained.
Recall that the NFF through the Department of Communication in 2018 reported that Falconets players and officials have been paid, the statement which was refuted immediately by the erstwhile Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung.
