We didn't deserve to lose to Rivers United, Says Fabiyi
By Abidoye Babatunde
Remo Stars played to a 1-0 deficit against Rivers United on Wednesday, in a rescheduled Matchday 1 of Nigeria Professional Football League game, BSNSports reports.
The Sky Blue Stars' goalkeeper Emmanuel Fabiyi believes that his side didn't deserve to go home empty-handed and felt that the loss was unfortunate for them.
“We didn’t deserve to go home empty- handed. It was a game in which we gave so much to but lost in the end,” Fabiyi said.
“The late goal was a bitter pill to swallow. I had the feeling that we were almost certain to pick a point. But football sings a different song at times."
The former Bayelsa United and Shooting Stars keeper also added that the setback has become a thing of the past.
“We have made a resolution to put the defeat to Rivers United behind us. The next game against Sunshine Stars should be our major target.
We can travel to Akure and cause an upset,” he concluded.
