Weightlifting Coaches Clamours For Iquaibom As President

The Chairman of Nigeria Weightlifting Coaches Association (NWCA), Emeka Ajei has called on Lawrence Iquaibom (OLY) to contest for the position of the President, Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF).
Ajei told newsmen that the former Technical Director NWF, Lawrence Iquaibom will bring his wealth of experience in piloting the affairs of the Federation.
He revealed as an ex Olympian, commonwealth champion and multiple national champion, Iquaibom can take Nigeria to the promiseland and dominate at the Olympics.
Ajjei said, “As the chairman of Nigeria Weightlifting Coaches Association, we have deliberated and we came up with a position that the former Technical Director of Nigeria Weightlifting Association, Lawrence Iquaibom should come out for the position of the President.
“Iquaibom is a former National champion, African champion, Commonwealth Games Champion and Two times Olympian. We believe he has the capacity to transform the federation and place us on the map of African once more.
“The last time we won a medal at the Olympics was 2008 Beijing Olympics from Mariam Usman. As it stands we are yet to qualify an lifter for the Olympic Games; we are optimistic that when Iquaibom become President, more athletes will attend Olympic qualifiers and participate in the next Olympics”.
Ajei appealed to the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to provide a level playing ground for contestants during the elections.
