Wenger's Appointment: Coaches Applaud FIFA, Advices NFF

The Nigeria Football Coaches Association has commended the World Football ruling body, FIFA for appointing former Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger as Chief of Global Football Development, while advising the Nigeria Football Federation to emulate the World Football body by appointing exprienced and prominent coaches into a body that will be responsible for the development of game in country.

FIFA only recently unveiled Wenger as FIFA’s new Chief of Global Football Development.

Wenger will be chiefly responsible for overseeing and driving the growth and development of football for both men and women around the world.

The President of NFCA Ladan Bosso said if appointed, such Coaches will be responsible of leading the authority on technical matters, and offering Technical Advisory roles decision-making process that will lead to the speedy development of the game in the country.

Bosso said such individuals should be those on a highly distinguished coaching career, and exemplified character.

Bosso congratulated Wenger in his new role which among others will include focusing on coach education, and offering invaluable contributions to the executive programmes which will encourage former professional players to enter management and support them through the post-career transition and bridge their gap between managerial and technical positions in football.
