Gernot Rohr Does Not Deserve New Contract - Jalla

President, National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF), Harrison Jalla has said that the Nigeria Football Federation should not extend the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Jalla explained that the Franco-German tactician has not added anything special to improve the Nigeria senior national team since he assumed the position.

He labelled Rohr as Third-rated and advised the NFF to go for an highly rated coach scattered around the world.

"The National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) wish to state categorically that Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr does not deserve a new contract except there is something special his employers the NFF are benefiting from his contract that Nigerians do not know. What is Coach Gernot Rohr achievement since he was contracted by the NFF?"

"Nigeria qualified to play in the round of 16 in the 2014 world cup in Brazil under Late coach Stephen Keshi (of blessed memory).

"Nigeria won the AFCON 2013 under same Stephen Keshi. What has Gernot Rohr achieved for Nigeria? What was his score card in the 2018 world cup in Russia? Nigeria never went past the group stage. Again what did Gernot Rohr achieved in the 2019 AFCON? A bronze medal that our indigenous coaches have also achieved. Under Coach Samson Siasia Nigeria won Olympic silver medal in China and won Bronze in Brazil he also won silver for Nigeria in the under 21 world cup in Holland.

He frowned at the way the federation abandoned the former Flying Eagles, U23 National team and one of the best coach in Nigeria when he was banned by FIFA from all football related activities over allegation of match fixing, even though the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) has not heard his defense on the allegation.

He saw the federation's action as a sabotage when the leadership of the NFF are also under corruption investigation by the EFCC and ICPC.

"Even though coach Samson Siasia has not been found guilty by the court of Arbitration for sports (CAS) the NFF has long abandoned him over allegation of match fixing while top officials of the NFF being hounded daily for allegations of massive corruption by the EFCC and ICPC are clinging desperately to their Jobs. Since assuming duty as Super Eagles coach how many players has Rohr discovered from our Domestic leagues?

"Coaches Clemens westerhof and Jo Bonfrere's records in talents discovery and development speaks for itself. If the NFF must employ a Foreign coach he must be an A-List coach or in the alternative employ our indigenous coaches for the Super Eagles. Its unacceptable to continue to use Nigeria as a dumping ground for third-rated Foreign coaches."
