  Awoniyi Explains Reasons He might Not Play For Liverpool By Sampson Adedeji Nigeria international, Taiwo Awoniyi, has explained the reason why his ambition of playing for English Premier League champions, Liverpool may never become a reality, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Awoniyi joined Liverpool in 2015 and was immediately loaned to FSV Frankfurt where he played 13 matches and scored once. Since then, he has played in various clubs on loan from the Reds and the English club have been unable to secure him a compulsory work permit. While speaking to ESPN Africa, Awoniyi said Liverpool remained a club he wishes to represent but his inability to secure work permit may scuttle the ambition "It is my dream to play for Liverpool," he told ESPN. "But me playing for Liverpool has to do with getting my work permit. "Without it, there is no chance for me discussing about playing for Liverpool for now. "This season was maybe a bit tough to make the decision because honestly, I was hoping to leave permanently. Liverpool have been great, they have been so supportive and we always talk with the director and every time, they tell me to be patient. "But the reason I discussed something permanent this season was just that I felt most loans I have been to, have not really been the way I want it. "And I felt like it happens that way because the loan players get less of an advantage than the players of their own club. "That was what made me think, okay, maybe it's time to find a home with my family," he said. Taiwo Awoniyi, 23, is a striker presently playing for Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga. Awoniyi represented Nigeria at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup and went on to win the tournament, scoring four goals during the competition. He also represented Nigeria at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand after winning the 2015 African U-20 Championship in Senegal . On 12 April 2015, he scored a brace on his debut for the Nigeria U-23 team in a match against Zambia, as his team went on to qualify for the 2015 All African Games. He was selected by Nigeria for their 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
