Kennedy Boboye, who won the NPFL title with Plateau United in 2016/17 season and guide team the to the CAF champions league last season reportedly parted ways with the club when both parties failed to agree on the conditions surrounding the renewal of the contract. 2018/19 NPFL season will commence in November 2018, and before coach Boboye could start the season after the expiration of his contract with the club, it is understandably that a new contract should be signed or the former contract should be renewed. It is reported that it was impossible for both sides to seal a contract deal reason why both parties agreed to part ways. Recall that Lobi Stars will represent Nigeria in the CAF champions league this season following the abruptly end of the league in week 24.
