Why NFF Asks Technical Director Bewarang, Two Others To Step Aside

By Editor

Apex football body, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have asked three of its senior staff in the Technical Department to step side from their duties with immediate effect.

According to exclusivenews.com the officers are the Director of Technical, Bitrus Bewarang and two of his assistants Siji Lagunju and Rafiu Yusuf.

They were told last week to stay away from the office following the expiration of their contracts. The contracts of the trio expired last week and the Federation is not keen to get them renewed, instead there have been moves to replace them.

The directives to Rafiu Yusuf came to many as a surprise, as he was being tipped as possible replacement for Bitrus Bewarang which was believed to be only tolerated in the Federation all these while.

According to our impeccable source in the NFF, Bewarang was attending a virtual meeting of Technical Directors of other African countries, when the directives came to him to leave the meeting immediately and hand over to the TMS Desk Officer in the Federation, Nasir Jibril.

Recall Bewarang took over the helms of the NFF’s Technical department after the death of Amodu Shauibu.
