Why Nigeria Lottery Trust Fund Supports Gymnastics.... NLTF CEO By Niyi Busari Mr Bello Maigari, CEO Nigeria Lottery Trust Fund has described sports as the link that gives prominent position in running the agency because, according to him, the agency generates its funds from entertainments particularly sports. "Our agency's income comes from entertainment. Sports is an economic activity that contributes to the national income particularly, National Lottery Trust Fund, Bello told www.bsnsports.com.ng during TIG courtesy visit in his office in Abuja. Bello explained why the agency decided to support gymnastics despite many other sports in Nigeria. "But today we want to go on and support gymnastics because it is a competitive game meant for children and capable of winning medals for Nigeria in any Championship." He promised to continue to support the game, so that they can continue to excel by bringing laurels to the country. He added that National Lottery Trust Fund has always support sports development in Nigeria. "We shall continue to support gymnastics and shall not deny them whenever they knock on our doors for assistance." On his part, the leader of the delegation and the Technical Director of Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria, Anthony Asuquo was glad for the support and thanked the government agency for fulfilling their promises. "It is amazing having government agency encouraging children in sports because there has not been programme tailored towards encouraging children in Nigeria." "I am very happy because they are the first government agency that gave training equipment to encourage children in school and now supporting a sport called gymnastics that can fetch Nigeria more than 30 medals in any Championship. So, if we can invest in gymnastics, no doubt, Nigeria will win more medals in All African Games,Olympics among others." Tony concluded.
